Eglantina Gjermeni

Eglantina Gjermeni is Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Mission of Albania to the OSCE and other International Organizations in Vienna. She is also a member of Albanian Delegation at the Council of Europe. She was Chair of Sub Committee on Gender Equality, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France from 2019 – 2021.
She was a member of the Albanian Parliament from 2017 – 2021 and from 2009 – 2013. In that role she served as President of the Subcommittee on Gender Equality and Prevention of Violence against Women. While in 2013, she was appointed Minister of Urban Development, a post she held until September 2017. For many years, she has been a lecturer in the Department of Labor and Social Policy, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tirana (1995-present ) with the title of Associate Professor in Social Sciences. She also was an adjunct professor, Distinguished Professor of Leadership at the John Wesley School of Leadership, Carolina University, USA from 2021- 2022.
For a period of ten years (1999-2009), Eglantina Gjermeni headed the Center for Gender Alliance for Development, a non-profit organization promoting the creation of a society of equal opportunities. She is the author/co -author of a series of publications in the social field and an expert in gender equality.
